More Iconic Food Paintings

Artists have been painting about food for a very long time Today we are going to look at paintings in the past starting with three of my favourite artists of all time - all of whom painting scenes involving eating.

I have to commence the exhibition of Eating Scenes with a Pieter Bruegal The Elder (c1525/1530-1569) painting as he painted scenes of ordinary people going about their daily lives- such as eating and partying at a Peasant Wedding Feast painted in 1556. And as I have mentioned before - I love this type of genre painting.

Next of my favourite artists list is Edward Hopper (1882-1867) who also painted many scenes of, perhaps not so ordinary people, going about their daily lives. I particularly like Choy Suey painted in 1929.
