Food, Food, Glorious Food

The best way to relax in my opinion is with a group of friends and family over a meal of delicious food: good company and good food make for a stimulating and entertaining time. Over the next two days enjoy some of the most iconic food paintings.

Today we will remember the glorious 1960s that for so many of us were years filled with partying with our teenage friends.

I couldn't resist starting the show off with Annie, Poured from Maple Syrup created by Ed Ruscha in 1966 which was also my first year as a newly qualified teacher let loose on the poor unsuspecting children and their parents.

And of course, we must place high on the list the iconic Campbell's Soup Cans produced by Andy Warhol in 1962.

In the case of pop artist James Rosenquist the focus was, in terms of food, spaghetti as shown here in his I Love You with My Ford produced in 1961.

Cakes by Wayne Thiebaud created in 1963 is a delightful reminder of the pretty times and dainty food that is still very much part of the High Teas so many of us enjoy regardless of the year.
