Members of the Fundamental Features of the Environment Family

Recently I showcased some patterns as seen in the gum trees where I live in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Seeing these patterns made me think that we can categorise what I term the Members of the Fundamental Features of the Environment Family - or in simple words - the elements that Mother Nature has used to create her magnificant images we all enjoy each day.

This is how I see these elements as members of a family commencing with pattern. We have:

Pattern: the harmoniser
Colour:the brazen child
Shape: the controller
Texture: the antagonist
Light: the leader
Reflection: the mimic
Connection: the explorer

We will continue to explore these elements but today to get you thinking I have illustrated each child with an image from Unsplash.
