The Colour of Music

Arts Network brings us a fascinating article on the relationship between music and painting. Many blogs back, you might remember I was talking about the American painter James Whistler (1834–1903) and how he titled his paintings using musical terms as symphony, arrangement and nocturne, empathising the correlation between the variations in musical tone and the variations in colour value.

Please note however, there is an error in labelling the images. The fifth image in the article is a Kandinsky not as shown in the article  a James Whistler titled Nocturne: The Thames at Battersea which is the image above the Kandinsky.
