Harry was my dentist for nearly 40 years so I decided to paint his portrait with a background of his favourite hobby- yachting.

Conceptually this is the matching pair to "The Secret Business of Men: The Pub Boys" though the paintings are different sizes. Both paintings depict some of the “salt of the earth” men in our lives. Both paintings allowed me to paint one of my favourite motifs- red bricks. Available as a print.

I love this painting & had so many laughs creating the people & what they might be eating. "Mother" is using a Royal Albert teacup & drinking sherry in contrast to the others with their cheap wines. Available as a print.

I love this painting and have refused to sell it. It is a symbolic depiction from my memory of my childhood. I made up the name “Barney Glade” to represent men of my Dad’s generation and the contentments in their lives. Available as a print.

This painting was done as a “brother” to "The Secret Business of Men: Paintworks". I used the fascade of a hotel in Daylesford as the model for the pub. Had a lot of fun learning how to paint lead light glass so popular in these early hotels. Available as a print.

Occasionally I meet the challenge of producing a portrait which is not my strength. In my opinion this is my best at the human body. I did have a great specimen to work with.

Another portrait this time for someone who loves old machinery. Great face so I really enjoyed painting this one.

A memory of past times when a family gathered around the piano for a musical soirée. The idea for this painting came from an old photograph taken over 70 years ago. The painting was a gift for a friend.

This painting was a venture into medieval history and was done on a small box not a canvas.
