Mothers
On the second Sunday in May every year those of us who live Down Under officially celebrate Mother's Day.

My mother didn't believe in Mother's Day ... teaching us to appreciate and treasure mothers throughout the year and to give them surprise treats like the time I took my mother to China when she was nearly 83 years old - way back in 1990!
Today, as I reflect on my remarkable mother I realise that I have paid homage to mothers endlessly in my paintings.
I have them doing the washing.....
Mowing the lawn...
Chatting....
Working.... especially those mothers who work at night....
and socialising with family gathered around to enjoy a musical night...
...and hopefully always being respected as the head of table even at an Aussie BBQ where "mother" must be served tea in her Royal Albert cup and sherry in a crystal glass ...
There is no doubt ... we love our Mums in all their shapes and forms ...
Thank you for all you have done and continue to do to make our worlds as good as you can....
