Royal Botanic Gardens, Melbourne: Up Close
Anne has asked me to welcome a new subscriber to our blog who joined us yesterday - we are going to call them BCT of Moonee Ponds. I hope they are in a holiday mood and ready to relax because today we are going to enjoy some images from a wander around our glorious Botanic Gardens.
Nearly 175 years ago, Melbourne’s Botanic Gardens was established by Lieutenant Governor Charles La Trobe. In 1958, Queen Elizabeth II bestowed the ‘Royal’ prefix on the Gardens. After receiving some welcome summer rain, the Royal Botanic Gardens were resplendent when I visited recently.
Around every bend you can immerse yourself in natures amazing textures and colours
If you would like to turn back time, take a punt on the lake: odds are you will have a wonderful experience
The gardens are located within walking distance from the CBD, if you visit Melbourne, take some time out, great views of the city and the sporting precinct, you might be surprised what you see.
All photos are my own.
