Unlocking Margaret's House: Still Life Challenge No 1: Hyacinths

In 2021 during Covid Lockdown in Australia the Tweed Regional Gallery & Margaret Olley Art Centre, a regional art gallery in Murwillumbah, New South Wales, Australia, produced a series of Gallery At Home Still Life Challenges - inspired by the paintings of the magnificent Margaret Olley.

Over the coming weeks we are going to share these challenges with you - to inspire you to draw, paint or perhaps to appreciate still life paintings in a different way. Whatever your motivation, I can assure you that the videos which accompany most of the challenges are a real treat as you get to go inside the home of one of Australia's most talented and entralling individuals.

A wonderful day with much to celebrate in the way of creativity and the joining together of people who love to share their common interest in art. Today we welcome two new subscribers: Prosper.O.O. in Nigeria and Thomas Riesner from Leipzing in Germany. Thomas is an artist using an abstract figuration style which you will see in a post very soon.

A very warm welcome to both of these new members of the AnArt4Life blog.

And while we are talking about Africa, Monica in Tanzania has come up with a wonderful art topic which she is gathering information about - Glyphs - in all their manifestations and definitely from the earliest of times. If you have an interest in Gylphs start chatting about it and we will see when it leads us!
